Thanksgiving Break, Please!

I am so ready for a break from classes. School has been okay, but lately I've just been so worn out all the time!

Band is going better. I never wrote about it on here, but if you check out my livejournal ([link] in particular), I had some slightly complain-y entries about our new band director. I still haven't fully accepted him. There's just something about him that I don't like (that may have something to do with making pointless changes, giving us super-simple shows, and making us march in the cold, drizzly rain... I'm just sayin'...). But it hasn't been quite as bad lately. Still, he is not the "true" band director in my mind. That title goes to our "assistant" director. I really wish he had just gotten the job as head director. Everything would have been a lot better, I think.

But yeah. I've got some sketchy drawings I should upload. If I ever collect a good amount of decent ones, and I have the chance, I'll upload them.

I'm really liking your gallery. And I was wondering, what are some of the music classes that you're taking in college? Curious because I hope to go to college for the same thing. ^^;

Well, thank you :D

Yay, another (hopefully ;)) music major! Music-wise, I'm taking music theory and aural perception (4 semesters of each of those), piano (4 semesters total of this too), music Technology (that teaches us how to use programs like Finale) and since I'm an education major, I'm also taking classes in instruction of all the instruments. I'm also in the flute studio and technique class, and take private lessons once a week.

Then there are the basic math, science, english, history classes.

So yeah, I hope that gives you an idea. If you ever have any questions about it feel free to message me! I'd be more than happy to help :)

Thank you so much for the insight! At my scool, music theory is divided into two years. I'm a junior right now and taking Music Theory 1. Senior year I'll take MT2. (: Oh, I'd love to take classes that teach you all instruments! I've been playing flute since 4th grade, and started learning keyboard and acoustic guitar about a year ago. ^^

Ahaha, I can assure you that I will indeed have many, many questions. xD You'll be sorry you offerred! >:]

In my high school music theory was an AP class, and it was only one year. It didn't get me out of any real theory classes, but it did get me out of "basic musicianship" which was like an intro to theory type class. The instrument classes are way fun, but they take a lot of time. Like, I have to spend time practicing them, in addition to practicing my flute. And I was absolutely horrible at the high brass class. Glad I got that over with, haha!
Wow, you've been playing a long time! I didn't start until 7th grade (that's when band is first offered here), and I didn't have any piano experience until I took piano 1 two semesters ago.
